Annually, students gets excited for the fall fashion which tends to be the basics such as flannel, scarves, and combat boots but this year we have a few exciting trends to add to spice up your style.

The fall of 2017 will be jaw dropping for women with florals, denim skirts, and off the shoulder tops that have been flooding the hallways already. According to Elle, “designers looked to their aunt’s living room…applying vintage floral prints to everything”.

Another big trend this year is political slogans that have varied from anything about the president to feminism to the popular topic of black lives matter and even though these haven’t appeared too much in the classrooms, this trend swamped New York Fashion Week runways.

For guys, whether it was on Vogue or Esquire, the trends all appeared the same. Quilted jackets were always the first to be listed for 2017 fall fashion, knitted sweaters, the bold color orange, and  80’s and 90’s nostalgia. As said by Vogue, “Those seeking comfort for the end of the world will pleased…designers are countering chaos with coziness…”

Shelby Larson, a senior at North, has been involved in countless school activities including softball and Student Council.

What fall trends are you most looking forward to?

My favorite fall trends are the colors they say are “in”. I just like wearing fall colors like olive greens, navy blue, and burnt oranges.

What store(s) inspire your style?

Not one specific store comes to mind when thinking of what influences my style. Dry Goods is one of my favorites though. Urban Outfitters has a lot of cute things as well. I like to get things from different store and combine them to make “my style” I guess you could say.

Is there anything/ anybody that influences your style?

I like to see what celebrities are wearing that I follow. Also I like to read New York Times Fashion, I think that is fun. Those both influence what I like to wear!

Stunning sophomore Nora Morelli had some advice to share as well!

What celebrity can you best compare your style to?

Probably a cross between Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Aniston in Friends.

What is your favorite fall accessory?

I loved layered necklaces, floppy hats, and booties.

Do you have any go-to stores?

I’d say Urban Outfitters, Pacsun, and Zara.

If you could create your perfect fall outfit, what would it be?

Boyfriend style jeans, cropped sweater with brown booties and a choker necklace.

Stylish JROTC member, Max Parks answered our fall style questions with much enthusiasm!

How would you define your personal style?

I personally believe being well dressed is very important. I like to dress nice and keep my style very sleek, professional, and even a little sporty. I love wearing cargo shorts, jeans, and dress pants along with a polo, sweatshirt, and even a True Religion shirt.

What are your go-to stores?

My go-to stores are Zumiez, Pacsun, and my personal favorite, Macy’s.

What are clothing items in the fall you look forward to?

My favorite piece of clothing to wear in the fall is definitely a sweatshirt. I love sweatshirts because they are warm and very stylish and look great with pretty much anything you wear with them.

Last but definitely not least the the fashionable, Hayley Peterson.

What is your go-to fall outfit?

Right now I’m really into denim skirts and really anything off the shoulder. I also really like the embroidery trend.

Any favorite fall accessories?

I wear baseball hats year round and I like scrunchies. Wrap headbands are starting to become popular so I am getting into those as well.

What store(s) inspire your style?

My go-to stores are Madwell, Zara, Altar’d State, and Cotton On.

How would you describe your personal style?

Probably Boho Chic.

Overall, the fall trends have followed the past years with a few twists.
